ebay rant

Disclaimer: This post is boring, do not read.

So, like, I've been startin to finally ebay properly recently, after I hadn't bought anything off it since early 2003.
So, like
I gotta say.

PEOPLE ARE SO FUCKING STUPID.

No, I'm not talking about those twats who pay 10,000$ for a "mystery" pillow, I mean in the most basic usage of the site.

People keep bidding on stuff when they're like 6 days away. 6 days!!

Am I the only person who understands how this site works???

There is NO POINT in bidding before the final minutes of the auction, or if you're bugger to stay up that late, or are afraid you'll forget, then a few hours before, a day, max.

Anything before that will either hurt your pocket or someone else's pocket.

You hear me people of the internet??

YOU'RE ALL MORONS!

STOP BIDDING BEFORE THE FINAL HOUR, I'M PAYING MORE BECAUSE OF YOU IDIOTS WHEN I SNIPE YOU 3 MINUTES TO CLOSING.

That is all.

Hasn't it crossed your mind that the bidder itself superficially raises the bids using faux-users in order to create a hype around his auction?

Asi - Possible, but not probable IMO, seeing as most of the time it's users who have dozens of comments. Besides, that wouldn't be good business unless someone has already placed a bid. When I see an auction that already has a bid on it, it's a deterrant. Placing auctions in eBay costs money, and anyway, you can always put a reserve, or start the auction with a higher price. All these things put together make it seem kindof unlikely (though not unheard of) that it's the auctioner himself.
