Anomalism 3-9

Yesterday we went out to the house and checked the progress, still no walls. Things do seem to be moving though, the well people start tomorrow. We also took the opportunity to explore some of the caves in the back yard. These are not real caves in the Mamouth cave sense, but deep fissures in the rock shelf(20-40 feet deep)some of them hundreds of yards long and extending into the park. Some of the caves have roofs, other parts are open topped. there are branching fissures. It is SO! cool and to think I actually own some of them. We were walking along and Mrs Anomalous turned to me and said"this can't be real, this is realy ours, it has to be a dream".

!! you have CAVES?? that's just ..cool beyond reason.

I WANT CAVES! you can build a bomb shelter in the backyard easy now LOL

I will have pics eventualy when we get moved in and get the DSL going again. Another thing we will have to do is find our missing 1.5 acres, the listing showed 4.81 acres but the title and survey show 3.4. We may have a detached parcel some where.

they measured the depth of the caves =P

but yeah missing land can suck. My family moved onto a lot that was split in half and had 2 houses on it. the second houses driveway was on our front lawn.... the builder paid dearly for that one

Only meassured as a guesstimate from standing and looking up and out the top. The missing land thing will be interesting to say the least.

2004-03-09 08:05:21 ET

no i mean they included the surface area of the cave walls in the acreage tehe

2004-03-09 08:15:42 ET

I hope not! I don't like the idea of that many people knowing about my caves. But them again considering how long they have been there I guess a lot of people have had opportunity to crawl them ahead of us ;(

2004-03-09 08:17:34 ET

just make sure that when they fill and level the lot so they can lay the foundation they don't put the dirt in the caves *gasp*

2004-03-09 08:27:51 ET

No danger there, the rocks and cliffs in the back yard are bigger than the house by quite a bit and the cave access is behind them. One potential drag I see is that they open at thier other end into the park so people could wander into my yard without knowing it. Maybe I should post "parks stops here", signs in the caves, hehe. ;/

2004-03-09 08:30:08 ET

hehehe or just put up no trespassing signs and lay some traps

2004-03-09 08:35:17 ET

Traps! now that sounds like fun. My younger son Severity and I have allready discussed an uderground pistol range.

2004-03-09 08:36:55 ET

that'd be hella loud!

2004-03-09 08:39:05 ET

Yes it will! :)

2004-03-09 08:47:29 ET

caves? wow. that is the coolest thing I've heard in ages.

maybe you could put up monster statues to keep tresspassers out. :) or charge an entry fee. :)

2004-03-09 10:15:42 ET

*paints a Do not Feed the Bear sign* This sohuld help keep out trespassers

2004-03-11 07:39:19 ET

That could work! we have(theoretically) black bears in OH.
