E.Z. the kerosene cat has died. We noticed that he had lost a lot of weight and his breathing was labored, so we took him to the vet. He had 4 broken ribs, a twisted sternum and a colapsed lung. He also had a lot of fluid around his lungs and in hs body cavity. I thought at frst that some one had kicked him or possibly a fall. The fall was out because a fall that would do that kind of damage would have broken a cats chin. So the kick thing was a possibility because he will walk up to anyone and in fact everyone who comes into the yard. The doc sent a sample to the lab and it came back as cancer a couple days later. So there was no hope of getting better from this one, the bones had broken because there was not enough left to keep them intact. It was too advanced to save him this time. I say this time because of his history of near death experiences that have required many trips to the vet. (in fact more than all the other cats combined) He has been chewed upon and punctured by many creatures. He has had eardrum punctured and had infection that had one eye badly dialated. He staggered in the door nonchalantly one morning covered from head to toe with kerosene. So many times we have been heard to say "E.Z. what the ____ have you been doing?!!!" E.Z. would jump on the hood of every car that pulled in the driveway and greet them, he would jump in any open car door without hesitation, (tried to go with the pizza guy several times), (also went 30 miles in the tunk of the neighbors car once before they found him). He would do bad things to annoy you when he wanted to go outside, because he knew he would get tossed high in the air out the door. When we were living in our realtor's basement waiting for the new old house to be ready he would drive us nuts at night wanting out. so we put him in one of the cars with a litter box at night. So he turned on the hazard lights and wore down the battery. He has taken many trips to the gun shop or the grocery with me because it was hard to keep him out of the cars. he always loved adventure and would go with us every time we would go for a walk up on the cliffs. E.Z. has been unique among all the cats I have known.

anyone who would kick a cat deserves to have their eyes gouged out with a spoon. that's only for starters. I believe in torture for torture's sake.
