i haye using the word scen but i will

Deftones R Us 2004-06-19 20:36:30 ET so this evening i got my first real taste of non-scene kids. i am, very not happy. i hate to sound elitist but fuck. so i went to this jardcore show this evening. so the first band starts, and we have opened up a small space to dance, and people just walk right through and stand.. so oh well, but the show starts, we finally clear an area and start dancing, and these kids who have no idea what hardcore is all about start laughinf at us dancing, not knowing what to make of us.... so they were at a hardcore show, and didnt know why people were dancing.... they ruined are spot and started jumping around and moshing like idiots... this guy was trying to get me to make a fool of myself moshing, and bumping into people, he wouldnt stop touching me, i almost beat the fuck out of him. im just really disapointed that all these kids who know nothing about hardcore are starting to ruin shows for reall hardcore kids.... VISION- Saturday Night Live EDIT- its not that i care how these people dress, or the bands they now, but it is the way they act. if you go to a hardcore show, it is kinda stupid to make fun of hardcore kids doing things sononymous with hardcore .they didnt even know what the dancing was, and they were at a hardcore show, they knew nothing about hardcore, and were unknowingly making fun of something that hardcore has been doing for 30 years. its just in any genre of anything, everyone has a certain small obligation to understand or have some knowledge about it, or not be one to make fun.

Braindead 2004-06-19 22:08:01 ET not to sound smallminded but that whole hardcore dancing thing does look really stupid, I think im just bitter though, I've been on the reciving ends of those flying fist so many times and I really went from understanding to fed up in a matter of a couple shows. Hardcore is one of, if not my favorite genre of music, but i dunno. I can see why your upset though, these fucking poseurs come to a hxc show not understanding anything about one of the best genre's of music, and what comes with it, and they sit and laugh. Just a bunch of metal head fucking jocks who come to shows all the time and gotta ruin shit. These are usually the assholes who come to shows, get drunk, and start fights, resulting in the shows being shut down.

Deftones R Us 2004-06-20 07:44:26 ET i do see where you are coming from.. those peole who go to shows and dance and dont watch out for other peope are almost as bad as the people who dont know what is going on. they are taking one of my favorite activities, and turning it into something terrible, that ruins shows for people. ill say i have come close to kicking peoplke in the face, but it has always been complete accident and i always go and apoligize and make sure nobody was hurt. but yeah.. all the kids were the same kids who heard coheed and cambria on mtv2, and now all own the same shirt

NorskPoser 2004-06-22 14:19:54 ET I wouldn't worry 'bout it Slim, there are some fucking douches that come to our shows and start fights in our pits, or when were skanking (no big hxc here just some grindcore and thrash, so no dancing). What usually happens is that our venue's owner comes and throws 'em out if they're being obnoxious pukes.
