So school started this week, and i couldn't be more excited and happy to be back in a learning mindset again, my classes are very righteous, and finally putting me on a path toward a degree in psych. Cute girls everywhere. Ive been riding my bike at least 2-5 miles a day, just getting around and what not. Had an interview with photobucket today to be a content moderator, i am almost positive i will get the job. My mom came up to denver today too! She picked me up from school, and after we took my bike home, she took me to eat at my fav vegan place. MMMMMMM SAIETAN PARM!!!!! We then decided to walk down the riverwalk, and ended up walking downtown, to a rigtheous bookstore. She bought me dharma punx, and ordered me Straight Edge (A book written not only about straight edge, but by a guy who grew up in the denver scene, so its a history of my scene!!!!!!!!!). Im excited she was buying me shit, but it was really just epic to be hanging out with my mom too, she realy is a neat lady! Oh yeah and Dora and i have been chit chatting more and more recently, and i keep getting little comments like "youre awesome" and such, so im excited to see where that is going. Me and Eric are seeing Ghostbusters on the big screen tomorrow, HYPED!!!!

your mom sounds so cool!
let me know what you think of Darma Punx. Josh and I have been looking for that book around town but I think we'll end up ordering it online.
and I've always been curious about that straight edge book. Let me know how that one is too. Your mom is rad.

So what's up with Dora?

So far dharma punx is better than its counter part, Hardcore Zen which i read in high school (and prolly should read again)but i havent gotten too far in yet. The Straight Edge book is one im the most excited for, because like i said, its not only a subject that is dearest to my heart, but also a history of my scene, the places i go, and occasionaly some of the people i meet. Have you seen the American Hardcore DVD? As far as Dora goes, i havent seen her in weeks, because she has been in Cali and OK, but we chat via aim, email, and text a lot, and ive just been turning on the charm a bit, and it seems to be going well. To be totally honest, i just really enjoy her company, and the way she speaks and acts, it is very similar and complimentary to me. So like i said, im excited to see where this goes, even if it just ends (and begins) as a friendship!

well, she sounds sweet. and i hope that something great comes from it.

i haven't seen the american hardcore dvd. sounds good though. I'm sure Josh and I will probably watch it now. I haven't read any of those books but now you've got me curious!

if i can get this decryption software working i can email you the dvd, if you arent too opposed to piracy! Hardcore zen is interesting but from what ive heard from dharma punx readers, DP doesnt seem to be as preachy be buhddist like HZ does. DP is more of a story. I am really stoked because i just amazoned a book called Salad Days, which ive been told is a great book about the hardcore scene. I love reading print about the scene, for the fact that the people who are intelligent enough write about it, usually are the ones that are intelligent enough to sift through the bullshit, and play on the important parts of it.

my husband read lords of chaos and lovvved it. have you read it? I'm not against piracy too much. I'd fa sho take a copy of it. I just told Josh about it tonight and he is really interested in it. I haven't read up too much on the hardcore scene. I've read a bit about punk. I read a lot of Kerouac. He was a buddhist as well.

Jack keruak!!! My beat poet himself! Fan, I have not even heard of lords of chaos, what's it aboot?

2007-08-26 07:01:33 ET

I lovvvee Kerouac. I love most of the beats but I have some trouble getting into burroughs.

Lords of Chaos is a book about the crazy ass swedish death metal scene. it's insane! but i highly recomend it. Josh couldn't put it down. He was soo into it. The bands are Satanists and they kill people and stuff. It's crazy they also get super light sentences. There black death metal is like fall out boy here.
