2008-05-06 01:18:18 ET Always wear clean underwear in public, especially when working under your vehicle...From the Northwest Florida Daily News comes this story of a Crestview couple who drove their car to Wal-Mart, only to have their car break down in the parking lot. The man told his wife to carry on with the shopping while he fixed the car in the lot. The wife returned later to see a small group of people near the car. On closer inspection, she saw a pair of male legs protruding from under the chassis. Although the man was in shorts, his lack of underpants turned private parts into glaringly public ones. Unable to stand the embarrassment, she dutifully stepped forward, quickly p ut her hand UP his shorts, and tucked everything back into place. She took a deep breath and stood up boldly to face the crowd. She looked across the hood and found herself staring at her husband, who had been standing idly by. The article concluded noting that the mechanic had to have three stitches in his forehead to close the wound.

2008-05-04 23:38:03 ET I got this protein powder at Trader Joes--its "unflavored," and therefore lower in fat and has no sugar. I thought this would be a good idea...that way I could had my own sweet to it (rather than going to Carnation Instant Breakfast route, like I was doing). I can flavor it as I wish, blah blah blah. This was all good in theory. Unfortunately, it makes everything I put it in taste vaguely like raw pancake batter. Don't get me wrong, I actually don't mind the taste when it is IN A PANCAKE. When I make my own pancakes, I tend to cook them so they are just barely done...ya know, so they aren't doughy in the middle...but they are kinda damp. But, um...this is a smoothie. Not a pancake party. *babble* And you should SEE the size of this thing. I'm too broke to toss it or give it away on freecycle. I'm just going to have to deal with it :P

2008-05-04 06:50:00 ET So, we had Shan's birthday bonfire tonight. It was pretty fabulous. Its been a long time since I did a campfire on the beach. It wasn't even that cold, at least for an evening at Ocean Beach...not much fog, some wind, but not obscene amounts...it was lots of fun. There were a couple of tact-free moments by drunken fools, but I suppose that is to be expected when you put people and alcohol together. What made me particularly happy, though (other than hanging out with friends around a campfire with marshmallows), was that Shan brought Ashby. I spent probably half the evening with a sandy puppy butt in my lap, and enjoyed every minute of it. I wish I got more dawg time with Ashby Underfoot Waggybottom. She is a fabulous beastie. And, on a completely different note, Erin is going to kill me. Not in a bad way--but he made the most fabulous meaty, greasy omelettes with hash browns and english muffins tonight. Omigod. And now its nearly four am, and I am experiencing severe food coma. I usually try to move about for a bit after doing something like that, but seriously--stuffed to the gills. Can't move much at all--I'm rather amazed I can type, to be honest. Egad. And now I'm gonna go get my sleep on. Tomorrow, before I got to work, I'm going to have to call CB: "Baby, you gotta help me get my pants on so I can go to work. Bring the shoe horn." Heh :P EDIT: Oh yeah, fergot to share this--Kate has an extra ticket, and is trying to get me to go to Burning Man again this year. God I would love to go. I'm not sure if I can pull the money together, But I sure as shit am going to try. She sent me this pic as incentive (like I need it, right?)--Me Kate and Ceej in the Moon Car. Ooh, how fun. And appearently this year they have a fire-breathing armadillo art car. HAH!! ![]()

2008-05-03 20:13:28 ET I know that Mel Gibson is a racist twat and that his dad subscribes to the "Holocaust didn't exist" philosophy...but sometimes the only thing that can cheer me up is a bit of Lethal Weapon. I know, I know...but I love it. And I don't have the Die Hard trilogy yet. |
