2008-03-22 20:56:27 ET INDIO -- A man died Friday afternoon in a residential structure fire in Indio, according to investigators. The fire, which was reported about 5 p.m. in the 47-800 block of Austin Drive, was contained to a bedroom. Indio police officers found the man inside the bedroom and his death is being investigated as a suicide, department spokesman Ben Guitron said. It appears the fire occurred following an argument between the man and his wife over a divorce, he said. The man's identity has not been released. No one else was injured in the fire. |
