Woah, frisco is neato ! (c)

We;ve been staying with friends of the family in Sausalito, who are totally cool folks who have a design firm. They showed us around a bit for the basics, and then we set foot on our own. We treked all along Chinatown (it's like the biggiest chinatown ever), Fisherman's Warf was pretty cool, but very reminscent of Seattle's warf.
Then we went to see a concert downtown, The Strokes with Kings of Leon and Regina Specter. It was pretty rockin'. The Strokes were drunk out of their minds, and they sang a few songs off their new album which isn't out yet, so it was pretty awesome. The crowd was (again) sorta dissapointing. I dunno. People just don't jump here like they do back home .. Maybe I've grown old. Heh.

Ashbury-Haight and The Mission are these relics from the dog-dirty-hippie times, totally grungy and cool, with vintage shops, vinyl, comics, anarchist bookstores, the works. Awesome stuff. Amoeba Records is the single biggest music store I have ever seen in my life, I felt like a kid lost in Hippie Disneyworld.
Later on we drove out to Berkley, another relic from the 60's, only not as dirty and scummy. It had a cool vibe to it. Seriously, if I didn't know that it was doomed to sink into the ocean after some heavy tectonic movements, I'd so live here...
Then again, it's not exactly a 'young' town, so maybe it's just cool to be a tourist here...

Anyway, tomorrow we leave frisco for Yosemite NP, and the day after we hit Sin City Las Vegas ! weeeee

I'm in Frisco!

Seattle was ultracool. Thanks Maya for showin' me around n' stuff, and the KMFDM gig was r0ckin (though 1 encore was NOT enough; KMFDM sucks! ;))

I don't have time to update much, but the 101 over here was simply amazing. THAT's what I call an ocean.

laterz, y0!

the 6th is approaching so fast..

Wow, Seattle is as great as I remembered it..!

So laid back and beautiful with an awesome waterfront and redbrick houses, ol' chicago style buildings alongside these rollercoasterish highways and platforms, space needle and other junk.

Tre cool. Yep, I think I could live here too. :]

I'm considering staying here till friday and catching KMFDM or to move on to Portland on friday and catch E-Craft/Terrorkraft... hmmm..

I also might catch The Strokes in Frisco on the 21st, yay!

Wow, it's already mid-October.. Time sure does fly. Before I know it, I'll be back home...

I guess it'll be good to be back home.. I miss everybody terribly..!

anywayz, I'm out to drink beer/coffee (yes they actually drink a whole lot of coffee here) and some virtual shopping..

ADDENDUM: piccies:

The Space Needle, or as my sister called it 'The Sky Pin'.

The Wharf..

American Beauty style pic of something absolutely mundane, but still hypnotizingly beautiful:

Okay, so I'm in Salt Spring Island, BC.

ADDENDUM piccie:

Me n' me sister have crashed at some friends of the family who live here.

Vancouver is terrific. Seriously. This 'Canadia' is a pretty wicked place. Very sleekly designed, but also some cool grungy places.

Only thing is, I'm pretty 'shopped out'. 2+ months in America have taken a tolll on my shopping drive, and not only do I not have any more money, but I'm just sorta sick of it. I see cheap stuff, and say 'eh, I don't feel like buying anymore'.

Okay, I did buy myself another discus, but other than that, I've been clean. :)

I went to see the new Tarantino flic yesterday night. Good shit, but it feels like half a movie. No catharsis, no nuffin', just cut in the middle, with a comics-book-like cliffhanger.

Other than that, I've decided to start chilling. The past few weeks have been pretty intense with nature and sightseeing and driving and stuff. So I've starting reading a bit (Coraline by Neil Gaiman and a science book about SuperString theory), I wanna just relax for a bit...
I mean, I'm on vacation, ya'know.

So, from here on the gameplan is as such:

Leave Vancouver, head to Seattle
be in Seattle for a bit (yay!)
down the 101 to Frisco
be in San Fransisco (yay!)
head off to sin city Las Vegas, through Yosemite
visit Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam
Vegas for a bit (yay!)
Zion, Bryce (?)
head to LA
sell car
be in LA for a bit (yay!)
take flight from LAX to TA on the 6th back home.
