I worked so hard to prove all I know.
Using proper terms and adjusting sound levels just so.
Of course it would be the first day I am left alone,
that we couldn't get the buzzing out of the microphone.
The recording program on the computer refused to work.
dumping it's files like a stupid jerk
The lead singer sang all of his songs flat.
No amount of EQ could do anything about that.
The lead sound guy is going to hear about today.
And I will never run sound alone again on Sunday.
Have you tried a voice corrector? It has the ability to increase the vocals to a certain note without sounding too computerized (More computerized the farther out of range you try)
I haven't heard of the voice corrector. Is it just for fixing recorded audio or can it fix vocals live? My singer is live and we record the service for an archive files sort of thing.
Ben... What's worse is that have the feed set up so that it mixes entirely different than the mix in the speakers for the house.
Yeah I have used adobe audition (and like programs) and fixed vocals. I thought it was something like that you were speaking of. Unfortunately no one has invented the "don't suck" pot on a mixer. I'm going to love the day when you can sit and listen, adjust "they suck" amount to be a little lower, (you know like turning down the highs when the singer is really naselly,) and poof.. all is better.
At the studio we actually created a permanent "Awesome" Fader, basically it was a compressor reverb with the Mids (1k-2k) rejected a little...just patch the bitch in it and bring up the Awesome fader and lower the vocal fader proportionally and you got something that most people liked. $50 an hour for us to move one fader...
