2006-01-02 22:13:26 ET I am making a baby blanket. it's for a friend that had a baby two weeks ago. Usually in church circles, when some one has a baby, ends up in the hospital, has a family member die...ETC.. others try to band up around them and help them out... usually in the form of making dinners for a couple of weeks. it's practical if you think about it. if you've just gone through a life changing event, the last thing you want to do is figure out what to eat or even grocery shop. I recently found out that no one did this for my friend. I assumed that they, being the assistant pastors of our church would be taken care of. As I emerged from my cocoon of last semester, I inquired about a sign up list to be added to, only to find none... I am going to see what I can do to rectify this. I've already called and am taking her dinner tomarrow night... hence baby blanket making tonight. |
