well damn.

I went to four schools in 7th grade. I didnt learn a thing. Im angry now because this means that I was deprived of a 7th grade education. I now am dumber for my parents lack of character.
In conclusion, I dont understand how matrices work because I didnt learn 7th grade math.

...matrices?

Uhh.

...

2003-10-23 17:01:16 ET

multiple matrix?

2003-10-23 17:01:40 ET

...O_O

2003-10-23 17:01:42 ET

Oh, wait. That's the thing...with the 1,2,3,4s and the grid and the axis(plural) and the origin?

+

and then you graph things and dghaf;gh ?

2003-10-23 17:05:09 ET

its like [7 0] [5 0]
[4 9] *[4 0] = 29

2003-10-23 17:06:47 ET

Ohhhhh! Hah!

Easy.

It isn't like that.

It's like:

[4 9]*[4 0] = [16 0]

2003-10-23 17:13:12 ET

uhmm. are you sure? I suppose it looks strange because Ive never seen a matrix with only one row.

2003-10-23 17:16:47 ET

Yeah....

[4 9]* [4 0] = 4*4 and 9*0, then you write each answer independantly.

so

[16 0]

2003-10-23 17:23:07 ET

the matrix has you....

as an equivilant of [-4 6], are you gonna stand for that ?

2003-10-23 17:26:25 ET

fuck that.

2003-10-23 17:28:37 ET

remember, rules can be bent, others broken.

*KILL THE MATH TEACHER !!*

hmm, maybe that's why columbine happened. damn subliminal messages.

2003-10-23 17:29:53 ET

I didn't learn Matrices until last semester IN COLLEGE, 2nd year. Linear Algebra is the shiznit!

2003-10-23 17:30:43 ET

math is the shit, period !!

as in it smells like it !

2003-10-23 17:32:48 ET

dude, I can understand doing this stuff in a college where you are studying graphic design and/or animation. I dont understand any other use for it.

2003-10-23 17:50:16 ET

Cryptography too! Whats your career?

2003-10-23 20:22:44 ET

dude I kinda get that junk, maybe i can help you out this weekend?? but I think it's like [4 6] x [3 5] [12 30]
[3 8] [2 4] = [6 32] and that's how you do it?? I have no idea, never mind.

2003-10-24 01:48:06 ET

You got it.

2003-10-24 06:54:10 ET

really? nice.

2003-10-25 14:53:46 ET

hm.

2003-11-10 16:54:26 ET

Wait... you're doing matrices already? We did matrices in first year Uni. They've got like... a hojillion uses. Signal processing being the one we mostly use them for.

2003-11-10 17:52:48 ET

we're done with matrices and I finally figured them out. kasty is wrong because you cannot multiply a 1x2 matrix by a 1x2 matrix

2003-11-10 18:06:31 ET

Yeah, I'm pretty sure you are right.

[4 9] * [4 0] = Undefined

But;

[4 9] * [4] = [4 * 4 + 9 * 0] = 16
[0]

Generally though;

[1 2] * [A B] = [ (1A + 2C) (1B + 2D) ]
[3 4] [C D] [ (3A + 4C) (3B + 4D) ]

PS: That'd look better with a fixed width font, honest.

2003-11-10 19:17:49 ET

yeah, I know. you really can represent a matrix like that. I do understand what you are saying though, so its ok.

2003-11-11 16:54:00 ET

::TERRIBLE PUN ALERT::

The matrIx has you.

2003-11-11 18:14:49 ET

dude, that was already used in this thread...

2003-11-12 04:28:09 ET

Damn straight!

2003-11-12 16:00:16 ET

RIGHT ON BRO !!

2003-11-12 17:55:29 ET

Oh ho! Wait!

Get this...

The matrix has you!

DAMN I'M ORIGINAL.

2003-11-13 10:14:39 ET

dude, what kind of shit do they have you on ?

2003-11-13 12:46:56 ET

so the cleverness, it's over whelming...

2003-11-13 16:52:43 ET

this is scary.
