2004-06-03 16:33:00 ET ok, so now I have all the time in the world to disscuss my AMAZING tour of western US. YAY!!! ok, we started our adventure in Durango, CO and since then every other city has been compared to this one. (jokingly, of course) because that is the hoppinest town EVER. ok, enough of that. We drove on to phoenix and stayed there for a while... that was my last real entry I think. Our first look at the pacific was in some town near san jaun capistrano, we swam and had fish tacos... all around a good way to start our california trip. we went north to long beach and stayed with TINA (dun dun dun)this woman never shuts up... not even when she is driving. there are some terrible drivers in LA and vicinity but tina is in the top 5 she would look at someone in the back seat while driving and complain about how bad everyone else was driving. we just closed our eyes and prayed mostly. we stayed in long beach for a week.we went to the beach every single day and every single day except the day we left was cold. ooh, I got stung by a bee. on 2nd street, it got stuck in my fishnet and in order to free itself it stung me. I do have the satisfaction of knowing that the last thing it saw was the bottom of my boot :). venice beach was really neat. my one souvineir(sp?) is a painting from there. everyone had a really good time in venice. my mom got pushed around on a skateboard because she is hurt( another good story for later in this entry)david found a guy and linda found a bunch of skaters. I found walls full of graffiti! ok, I still have a whole lot to talk about so I will be less detailed and if you care you may ask questions. we went to the aquarium and bubba gump. then to hollywood with spiderman, spongebob, some random wizard, marylin monroe and a few others I cant remember. we saw the tarpits too. OFF TO THE NORTH WE GO. we passed through alot of interesting towns on our way to sacremento. one where everything was named after madonna,one where we stopped for lunch and a woman was riding her bike up and down the street screaming "hello from the homeless", one called big sur where we first got a good look at the ocean and how it is in northern cali. its MUCH better Id have to say. AND we picked up a hitchiker. we had dinner in monterey on the beach again. it was really nice but we couldnt find the seals. so, now sacremento. WOW alot of food growin there... not much else. we saw the capital builing. woooo. in sacremento I rode a motorcycle. that was fun. sanfrancisco! I hated it. everyone else had fun though. it is just WAY too tall for me. there are so many people and so much to do and its all crammed on this little peninsula. ick. i did see the seals there though. and collin :) which was really weird. now were in utah. we camped outside last night on the ground with no tent... weee. Ive tasted salty dirt. so far we've gotten lost and forgotten something everywhere we've been. we've see these wonderful natural attractions: the grand canyon, the pacific ocean, the four corners, the joshua trees, the salt lakes, lake tahoe,california redwoods. HUFF. ok, I think thats all. wow. sorry. |
