3/31/04 The Slackers @ the Sanctuary Venue, Stroudsburg, PA

So I decided that, in order to make my page more accesible to the commoners, as well as letting you into my life a touch more,
I'd start adding setlists and/or reviews of the concerts I attend.
Starting with last night's Slackers show.

...I'll let you know how it went, then!

A strange little underground (literally) venue, it was more like a converted basement, but that was cool.
The band wasn't really on a stage, because what stage there was was only 6 inches off the floor, and only half the band could fit on it.

but that was cool to have the guys right there on the floor with you.

And now, I was prepared to hear the "same ol' Slackers set," being in a small town like Stroudsburg and all,
but it just goes to show you - never expect anything from these guys.
a relatively short set, it was about a third new material!
they even did three new songs in a row! Who does that??
Specifically, a new one even to me "Keep it Simple" was really intriguing - a smooth soulful song in three part harmony.
as well, they did Propaganda, Sauron, Capo and Crazy.

Make me Smile was a nice surprise, but Please Decide just doesn't flow as easily into Come Back Baby as You Don't Know I. But hey.
whatever.

lastly, it was extra cool to have the entire encore from the first album. especially hearing Treat Me Good, which (I'll have to check) I don't think I've heard before.

so... that's about that.
I tried to bootleg the show, but my dumb ass forgot to put new batteries in the recorder and the thing died half-way through...
so we'll see how much I actually got.

here's the setlist:

I'll Stay Away
Have the Time
Keep Him Away
Capo
Watch This
No More Crying
Midnite Rendevous
Old Dog
Propaganda
Keep It Simple
Sauron
Make Me Smile
Please Decide
Come Back Baby
Crazy
I Still Love You
Face In My Crowd
--ENCORE--
RunAway
Treat Me Good
Pedophilia

If y'all enjoyed this, I could certainly post reviews to any show that is found on my list above.
I've the setlist to most, and reviewed a great deal already.
