2004-07-21 23:38:52 ET Hi Pete Carol Stinson called last night to tell us what happened with her son. There were three motorcycles, each carrying two people. They were riding too fast and had passed several cars before the accident. The lead motorcycle, a guy from Columbus and a girl from North Vernon were on the lead motorcycle. It appears as though he attempted to pass the vehicle in front of him in a right hand uphill curve. He hit a Hummer head on. The driver of the Hummer lost control when the air bag deployed. The Hummer swerved into the oncoming lane, missing cycle number two but hitting the 3rd Cycle Stinson and his girl friend were on. The guy on bike #1, Stinson and his girl friend were killed instantly. The girl on the back of bike # 1 lived for a few hours. Carol said he was a Christian. We are going to the funeral home Thursday evening. ........................................................... Mike Stinson has been my friend since 9th grade. He and a I were part of the same small group of friends and have stuck together for years. We were extremely close. We will miss you dearly, Mikey! You are finally free from pain. Enjoy yourself, Mike, you are with Jesus now. I love you, buddy! |
