this is how frugal my dad is..

Antipathy 2006-04-27 03:44:24 ET my dad hates spending money.. more than anything. especially on doctor visits. well this morning i had some terrible pains and such which hurt so bad i could swear it was a heart attack, i looked it up.. i had every single symptom of a heart attack: Symptoms of a heart attack include: * Chest discomfort or pain that is crushing or squeezing or feels like a heavy weight on the chest. Pain may spread from the chest to the back, neck, jaw, or to one or both shoulders or arms. * Sweating. * Shortness of breath. * Nausea or vomiting. * Dizziness or lightheadedness. * A fast or irregular heartbeat. i asked my dad if i could schedule a doctor's visit because i'm concerned, all he said was "they'll just tell you that you need to see some specialist and it'll be way too expensive. just pay more attention to the calories in your food" what the heck good will that do me!?

Antipathy 2006-04-27 05:37:39 ET i called the doctor's office and went to set an appointment. i said "i have some pretty bad chest pains this morning and.." and before i could finish the girl goes "oh god, you need to call 911, not us!" i explained that my dad wont pay for an emergency visit and she continued, "but, this is your life, who cares what the price is" ya well my dad cares. so i set an appointment for tomorrow morning, i get an EKG and they will tell me if i need to go straight to the emergency room from there. i also asked "is it possible for a 20 yr old to have a heart attack?" her response was "i dont care if you're 4 yrs old, chest pain isnt a game!" now my dad is angry at me because this doctor's visit is going to cost 200$
