So today's the big day. I'm starting to get nervous, but I'm trying not to think about it. The more composed I am this morning, the better.

I'm expecting a long day. I hope it goes by really fast, and that it's fun. I'm sure I'll have fun...in fact, I *know* it will be a fun learning experience, and I'm ready for it.

My hair looks awesome, I smell awesome, I will look TOTALLY awesome in the outfit I planned...Mel will get to see it tonight :] I'm in an awesome frame of mind this morning...::looks in mirror:: You go, girl! haha

Anyhow...enough dilly dallying...time for the beautification process to begin...I'm still in my sarong (sp?) from after my shower (which I had to battle spideys to get to...I didn't want to kill them, but they wouldn't leave the shower alone, so I didn't have a choice, unless I wanted to bathe in spiders...(ok, there were only two in the shower, but still, dude...that's *my* shower, dammit).

ACK! no rambling para mi! *poof!*

I burned blueberry incense yesturday, and it smells like musky blueberries in here, now.

I put some green and yellow dreds in my hair yesturday...it looked really cool until I was informed that I could be mistaken for an A's fan. God dammit. I hate that sports teams have stolen color combinations...bastards.

So, I took the yellow out, and would replace it with cobalt blue if I had any...or if I had money to purchase some, and the time to purchase it.

I have decided that the rule at starbucks about hair color can be bent...I can have purple dreds...if I put my hair up in such a way that you can't *see* the purple dreds...muwahahaha...I am sneaky. Shan is sneaky like ninja!

Also, on a hairy note...I'm currently perfecting the art of blending colors of synthetic hair. It's really easy, but time consuming, and the results are SO NEAT. I will post pics at some point.

Well, on another hairy note, now that I've figured out the colored hair thing, I'd better get to makin' me some PURPLE FUCKING DREDS! OMG, you guys have no idea how exciting this is for me. I've been wanting to put purple hair on my head for
sooooooooooooooo friggin' long, but I hadn't figured out the trick...now that I know it, ya'll best be watchin' out, yo...I BE A PURPLE HEADED BEAST!!! ok, maybe not that extreme, but uhm...yeah. Maybe I will be the Purple People Eater for Halloween this year :]

HOOORAY FOR PURPLEING!!!

so, like...yeah. and stuff.

Saturday was AWESOMETACULAR...my dad and I went to the Niles Essanay Silent Film Festival, and saw some cool movies...and heard some interesting speakers. One of the speakers, Sprague Anderson, is a professional filmmaker type dude, who has worked with the likes of Steven Speilburg and George Lucas, who has a hobby and a passion for silent films and how they were made. He collects old silent film cameras and frequently speaks about them and stuff. He's taught at a University, although I don't remember which one. Also. they had LIVE accompaniment...which was SO COOL! Very talented pianist :]

Pappa's day was awesome, too. My mom and I cooked my dad pancakes and eggs...I found a SUPER mushy card for my dad that said EXACTLY how I feel about my father. So i got it for him. I think he really appreciated it. I know cards aren't a very male thing, but my dad and I don't really talk that much, as I've said in previous entries. He's even quieter than I am (wonder where I get it?) even around me. But he's the best daddy ever! Yeah, shut up, I'm a daddy's girl :P

We also watched The Pianist and About Schmidt. Both very good movies, but also both are sad. My mom bought my dad a BIG HUGE London Broil steak that he BBQed...and we had home made macaroni salad, green salad, corn on the cob and french bread...OMG yum...awesome feast :P OOO with Dutch Apple pie for dessert...anyone hungry, yet? hehe...it's makin my mouth water, I can tell you that.

Ok...time to go find something more productive to do. like adding more hair to my head :]
