2007-05-05 06:39:40 ET So I saw Frontline Assembly last night. I was right on the fucking rail, in the middle. I was about a foot away from Bill Leeb for the entire set. I lost my voice screaming along to Mindphaser and Internal Combustion. I didn't want it to end.  They fucking gave Leeb control of the smoke machine. He blasted that thing about every 20 seconds like a child with a new lazer gun toy. It was so ridiculous it was hilarious. He announced at one point, "OK, now we're going to play one of our rare B-sides for you, it's okay if you don't know the words," and they started up Internal Combustion... of course everyone screamed. He started tickling Chris Peterson and the other keyboardist while singing "Move through the body". For some reason, maybe my math had just been off all this time, but I thought that Leeb was a lot older than he is. He sure looks it. But he still has the energy to stomp around stage and smash drums and put on an amazing show. |
