Dad picked me up when summer school got out today. We rode up to his friend Dougs house. Doug is awesome. He has a toothless cat, a dingo, another dog, a pawneranium, 2 parrots and a snake. The parrots are cool. Ollie the parrot likes me :D. My dad went up to see when Doug can do his tattoo. So me and my dad are getting a tattoo tomorrow after I get out of summer school. I'm getting another tattoo. Weeeeeeeee! AJ got his license. Yup yup. I'm not sure where I want this tattoo... so I am going to post something in alittle bit... and take a little poll.

Teen time
Fans control destiny of punk shows
A familiar lament, in Cumberland and in communities across the nation, is that “there’s nothing to do” for teenagers who are too old for the Saturday-night mall circuit and too young for the bar scene.
In Cumberland, the New Embassy Theatre stepped forward last spring to fill that yawning entertainment void by offering teen or “punk” shows on weekends. The shows, held once or twice a month from spring through fall at the historic theater on the downtown mall, feature local and regional bands such as The Devronz, Bored Beyond Belief and Quid Pro Quo. Maybe not your father’s idea of a good time, but just what the younger crowd wants.
Unfortunately, the punk shows are in danger of being canceled, not because of poor attendance, but because of poor behavior on the part of a handful of young people who attend the events. Embassy representatives say some fans have climbed light poles to remove decorative flags, climbed up fire escapes on neighboring buildings and uprooted flowers from downtown planters. Last weekend police were called after kids were seen throwing peanuts at a downtown apartment building.
It’s not a major vandalism spree, to be sure, but Embassy officials, who are themselves members of a downtown business community working hard to revive the shopping and restaurant district, are acutely sensitive to the concerns of their neighbors. That is as it should be.
In response to the latest problems, future shows will feature a roped-off area on the mall for fans to congregate during the shows. Leave the area, and you have to pay to re-enter the theater.
Since Embassy staff, their security personnel and city police cannot be everywhere during the teen shows, the burden for maintaining order — and preserving the shows — must fall on the fans themselves. The message for punk show fans is simple: Don’t participate or encourage acts of vandalism, and if you see such behavior, report it to theater officials.
Teen shows have been bumped from one venue after another thanks to complaints of rowdy behavior. Teens in the Cumberland area do have something to do, thanks to the Embassy. Unless they want to return to the walking the mall on Saturday nights, punk fans will do their part to help ensure that the show goes on.
