Found out some interesting information today..

New Info #1: My Great-Aunt (my Oma's sister) is a Pyro. Apparently she's been setting fires in the new retirement community she lives in. We aren't positive she did it yet, but the police had been watching her for a while and they went in yesturday and arrested her. So ...interesting stuff. Aunt Helga is in jail. *shakes head*

New Info #2: My cousin's husband really is an asshole...We all met yesturday for a cookout at my Great-Aunt Ellie's house. This is my cousin Melissa's family (mom and dad and sister, her brother wasn't there). Anyway her husband has always been anti-social around the family. Normally though he'll come around but just make her leave WAY early. But yesturday they stayed for a while, but here's what he did...

arrived, went into living room, sat in Uncle Charlie's chair, turned on TV. sat there til food was ready, got food, came outside for about a minute or so after eating, then went back inside for more food. and back into the living room tow atch more tv.

now Melissa's explaination for this was "he's not used ot a family like ours, where we get along so well and are so close" and her dad said "yeah well he's not goign to get used to it sitting away from us is he?"

they've been married going on...6 years or something like that. and he's known our family for a good many years before him and Melissa even got married. so his excuse of he's not used to it, is bullshit if you ask me. just another of his usual cop-outs to get people to feel sorry for him or whatever. the man is 30 years old (if not older) if he can't adapt to a new situation then he's shit out of luck.

the thing that really got to me though was the fact that lately i've been noticing a change in Melissa's behavior. more and more he's controling what she does and stuff. and then yesturday apparently he just proved that fact even more.

Now it's one thing to wear your hair a certain way because you know someone likes it that way, but also because you like it that way. it's another thing all together to be sitting there infront of your family with your hair up in a pony tail and have your husband pull out the ponytail holder and look at you and say

"dont wear your hair like that, i don't like it" and toss the ponytail holder across the table.

mom saw him do it, dont' know who else saw him do it, but i wasn't out there, and he's damn lucky i wasn't out there.

i'm sorry but you don't control how i wear my hair 24 horus a day, if i'm hot and i wanna pull it up, well then dammit it's my hair and i'm going to pull it up. I can almost guarentee that he's the reason she's growing her hair back out again. He won't let her get the girls hair cut either.

olivia pitches a fit everytime you go to touch her hair cause it's all matted up, i'm sorry but if it was my kid i'd cut her hair, i know it's a big thing for some people to cut kid's hair, but she's 4 and if she's not going to brush it and wont' let melissa brush it, then it's getting cut off, cause she's just whining bout it being tangled anyway.

so yeah ok that's it for my rant about how much i don't like my cousins husband. i rant about that a lot dont i? sorry...

*shakes head with tasha bout her aunt*

*pitches fit over lenny* and what is it about this man that melissa loves so much??

2004-07-05 19:45:26 ET

um...i have yet to figure that one out, considering before they got married, when her and i and jeff (her brother in law) and lenny would go bowling she'd gag and complain about how lenny was there and how much she hated him...i don't get it at all

2004-07-05 19:46:07 ET

can't help who we fall for

but still!!

2004-07-05 19:47:21 ET

no you can't help it, but the way she was going on and on about hating him and how creepy he was..it's a lil confusing.

2004-07-06 05:16:50 ET

yea that's a little strange... but i suppose people are kinda strange... so all and all... not too surprising...

(the aunt thing is pretty freaky though...)

i hate family drama

2004-07-06 12:27:24 ET

strange indeed, but he's always been "a little strange"

and yes family drama sucks..

and they bailed out my great-aunt, but i guess they know she set one of the fires for sure, so that pretty much gives them the idea that she set them all so who knows what will happen
