I left work early tonight, mostly so that I could give the landlord a call and see what the hell he wants. He wasn't answering his phone, so I left a message.

I'm hoping it's not about the ferrets. He got weirded out when he found out about them. I don't fully know why. They are technically considered a caged animal, something that almost every rental company ignores on their applications. Jay seems to think the house is going to smell like ferrets if and when we move out (they are descented, they only stink when the rev is being lazy about cleaning the cage). The last time I talked to him I tried to assure him it would not. We moved out of a mid-sized one-bedroom apartment that we shared with two cats and the ferrets. After it was cleaned one could not tell that any animals had been living there at all. We got our full deposit back.

Ghengis and Arioch do not have free run of the house. They are let out to run every couple of days and we immediately clean up after them if they leave us any "treats".

Hopefully this can be resolved. Maybe he'll butt out if I offer a pet deposit. :-/
