plans for this year, pt 1
2003-01-06 11:53:30 ET

hopefully this year i can
- quit smoking, FOR FUCKING GOOD. this means i have to change my definition of addiction.
- go back to being mute. the more i open my mouth these days, the less the words mean. it's to the point where i sometimes talk just to hear myself, which i hate myself for.
- lose this holiday weight and then some, AND,
- develop a diet inspired by hippies
- make ammends with girls (i'm getting there)
- exhume the notion of personal style (i buried it a couple of years ago for spiritual [read: Aum]reasons, and it's boring)
- begin on planning a masterpiece
- less alcohol and other depressants, less dependancy on stimulants. introduction to hallucinogens under working conditions.
- relearn that i shouldn't spend all my free time socializing or otherwise entertaining myself.
- learn/see/hear more of [artist/philosopher/scholar/etc]'s work, yet stop comparing myself with them.
-learn to be immersed in myself by default (very difficult, there are always so many distractions... this usually requires a few days of solitude just to get there, maintaining it is even harder)
- read more (i hereby declare that the reference section doesn't count)
- develop a healthy sleeping habit. one that involves waking up before sunset and sleeping less than 10 hours a day.

i can go on and on. i may write a part 2 soon. comments?

sounds good to me. . . especially the reading parts.

but don't go mute, we like you social -

Good luck.

I suggest you learn sign language.
Or get a tiny chalkboard and wear it around your neck.

a healthy sleeping habit is pretty important in my opinion...sleep is a very strange thing. i think we all have issues with the fickle whore of sleep.

2003-01-06 12:07:54 ET

I can't get no sleep. . .

2003-01-06 12:08:56 ET

shut up :-P

- develop a diet inspired by hippies

fuck hippies. They practice poor hygeine and eat boring food.

- less alcohol and other depressants, less dependancy on stimulants. introduction to hallucinogens under working conditions.

Amen, brotha. Hallucinogens + work = more compelling work

- read more (i hereby declare that the reference section doesn't count)

Good call.

the chalkboard idea is wonderful. good one! though i would have to be difficult and only use symbols.
i love sleep too much. if i get bored and have no plans for a few days, i sleep for 24-36 hours at a time and have the most amazing dream epics. and then i wake up from coffee withdrawal headaches.

2003-01-06 12:19:26 ET

Damn hippies.

::shakes fist::

2003-01-06 12:24:01 ET

...nausiating

2003-01-06 12:27:19 ET

what would the hippie diet entail? I for one do not recommend veganism since when i was vegan I barely hold my head up due to lack of nutrients.

2003-01-06 12:38:20 ET

no, not even vegetarianism.
but i want to do good things for my body, to make up for some of the bad things :)

2003-01-06 12:43:05 ET

so more organic? that i cheer you on for. i try to eat organic, it even feels cleaner when i am eating.

2003-01-06 13:10:33 ET

Water diet.
THE best.

Don't stop talking - when you stop communicating, you lose a bit of common courage.
Courage is good for your art.
