I want someones honest opinion about my photography. I never really get constuctive critisism, and I never really get noticed either. Someone please help. I have pictures here, and on my deviantart page.

Right, I'm trying to be constructive here, so bear with me, eh?

It's not an unattractive image, but from a technical standpoint here's what I see:

First things need to be tighter in on the munchkin. The background is all scenic and nice, but she's really the focus of things. She gets a little lost in the image. Just cropping will only help so much - it needs to be shot with a slightly longer focal length in order to bring her in closer.

While it's more of a general guideline than an actual rule, I think this particular image would look more dynamic if you used the rule of thirds, and moved her more away from the center of the frame.

You've got some blown highlights in the sky. They're not inteolerably bad, but they get irritating due to the fact that they blow out the upper portion of her hair, yet most of her appears to be in shadow - she may in fact be entirely well lit, and just exposed whacky. A neutral density filter or just playing with positing can help a lot. (I bugger up with blown out skies all the time - usually because I'm exposing for a fairly dark area, but there are still large patches of sky in the background). You might also want to learn the basics of reading a digital cameras exposure histogram, so you can know if you're running the risk of blowing out highlights or blocking up shadows.

That's it, really. Like I said it's not an unpleasant image, but you asked, and I'm trying to provide a (helpful) answer.

You're welcome. Also, positing should be read as positioning... one of these days I really need to double check what I'm typing. ;p

Ha I'm pretty good at getting what people mean to say. I do that a lot too, plus I suck at spelling.
