I forsee haveing a lot of fun with this. Ammo is expensive though so we won't be able to have too much fun lol/

Ammunition cost is one of the main reason I discourage people from buy this gun and also the DE in .50 cal. Having said that, .50 cal is a really fun, and powerful round that I may choose to use some day in the future.

A lot of people really like Desert Eagles and they want to get the .50 version. I recommend that if they decide to get one, they also get a spare barrel in either .44 mag or .357 mag. That way they can still have their jollies with the .50 but shoot less costly and more often with the cheaper rounds.

Sadly there's no alternative for the S&W 500. I'm sure you will still have fun. Congrat Q and S.

About half a box and I think you will start to feel pain in the wrist from the fairly massive recoil from this beast. The longer barrel will help some, the one I shot had a 5" and was brutal. You may well want to invest in reloading equipment for it as it will cut the cost of ammo in half.

We have talked about getting some reloading equipment. We also have a Glock 20 that ammo gets pricey for us as well. We have actually been disscusing it for some time.We bought a Smith & Wesson .22 as well so we can actually just go shoot and not really have to worry about price of ammo. :)

The one with the 5" barrel was a bit cheaper but we went ahead with the 8" to help with the recoil. I am really excited to shoot it even with the pain. It works out well with having to stop at half the box. I get to shoot half and my hubby gets to use the other half. :)
