holy ever loving fucking shit i am beyond sick of harbor freight commercials on youtube.

what the hell even is this company? in all my various travels and places lived i have never ever ever ever even remotely heard of nor seen a harbor freight store or a harbor freight anything anywhere in my life. and then suddenly this year entirely out of nothing this company shows up entirely out of nowhere with the most relentless ad campaign in the history of mankind just acting all like "hey we're harbor freight and we're not going to introduce ourselves or anything, instead we're just going to come right out the gate acting like we somehow have had 5 million stores for centuries now and you've always known and loved us and we're just like all the other stores and here's our totally normal ad campaign with the most annoying fucking theme song ever in an ad campaign but hey we've always been like that lol we're a totally normal company that you've always loved, right???"

NO you fucking awkward weirdos. what the hell is wrong with your marketing. did some random VC investor you have suddenly decided you need to act like you're walmart while advertising roughly 500x more than walmart and yet i still have never seen a single one of your stores anywhere and i would have zero clue how to even go to one, let alone i would never want to go to one of your stores if they even exist and i could ever conceivably find one cause HOLY FUCK HOW MANY TIMES DO I NEED TO BLOCK YOUR ENDLESS AND IDENTICAL YOUTUBE ADS AND WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS WHO THE FUCK EVEN ARE YOU HARBOR FREIGHT NO ONE FUCKING CARES.

I've seen their ads for years and heard people talk (negatively) about them for just as long but I think the first time I've ever actually been to one was last year. They literally are all over the place but have this uncanny ability to totally camouflage themselves in strip malls.

This also reminds me about seeing commercials for the Sonic fast food chain when I lived in IL, even though there weren't even any in the state until very recently.

oh yeah sonic has always advertised everywhere even though they've also always had relatively limited and not-necessarily-convenient locations.

HF just fucking showed up on my ad feed (and took it over all at once) beginning of this past year.

i did look on the map and there's a few floating around out here exclusively way the fuck in deep suburbia. frankly just from garnering the amount of their ads that i have been forced to sit through i just don't see the appeal? i mean we already have a ton of regular hardware stores locally and otherwise that sell quality products. and then on top of that we already have home depot and lowes and like fucking everything else that's already existed for ages and sells the same stuff HF does?

i think beyond the showing-up-out-of-nowhere-and-now-being-everywhere-in-my-ad-feeds aspect of the company ultimately ends up being kind of an aside to the "why am i supposed to care?" factor. like, ok. why the fuck am i supposed to shop at harbor freight suddenly? they're not offering anything a bunch of other tried-and-tested preexisting stores that i know where they are and have shopped at my whole life don't already have (hell, menards also comes to mind when i lived in the midwest) and furthermore nothing in HF's ads offers any reason whatsoever why i should suddenly seek them out instead of their much more wide-ranging and preexisting competition. like "hey we sell the same stuff home depot and ace hardware and everyone else does but WE'RE HARBOR FREIGHT!!!1 HAVE YOU HEARD OUR ANNOYING WOO-HOO-HOO SONG?!?!???/" is not an ad campaign my guys. i do not understand this company.

"SAVE BIG MONEY AT MY NARD'S <points to crotch and wiggles eyebrows>"

now THAT'S a tried and tested ad campaign.
