I heard myspace is making a comeback: https://www.eonline.com/news/1434548/myspace-is-getting-a-relaunch-though-without-tom-anderson

i looked up the documentary that references on IMDB and was less than impressed with the cast since, outside of chris (the other co-founder besides tom) it seemingly focuses entirely on celebrities and / or toxic internet celebrities. granted, i haven't watched the thing, but just looking at the cast i was like well gee this doesn't seem like it's probably much about how myspace actually operated at all. but i haven't watched it yet.

also i looked up the advertising agency that presently owns it and, considering absolutely no one from the OG team is involved in that including chris or tom, i have pretty big reservations that they'll truly be able to successfully relaunch it.

maybe i'll send them my résumé and see if they're hiring remotely and want my consult. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ though they strike me as the types who think they've got it all figured out - and they're a fucking advertising firm in 2026, to boot - so i'm guessing there won't be any interest and they'll flop massively with it.

i mean, i could be wrong and i'd kind of like to be wrong buuuuut vero basically is the closest thing to myspace in terms of organic reach and algorithm-free feeds with WAY better UX / UI and it's been and continues to be slowly and steadily building since 2015. if spacehey hasn't taken the world by storm i doubt some advertising firm is gonna show up and make myspace somehow more popular again than vero is.

we'll see i guess.
