The most frustrating thing about jiujitsu is that you can't even try to practice by yourself. At least in stand-up arts I can shadow box, but there isn't really a way to systematically flail around on the floor by yourself now is there?

I've been doing martial arts off and on (more off than on) for the past eight or nine years. I figured it's about time to get back in on the game and so now I'm adding Brazillian Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai to my lengthy martial resume. There's a place not very far from my house that trains both and is the home gym of Alan Belcher, a fairly successful UFC fighter. So far the classes are good but I need to buy a gi for some of the classes and a good gi online can run upwards of $130. Oh well, at least I'm having fun.

Well, I'm back from Louisiana. It was awesome, at least the french quarter. There is just so much culture there, it blows my mind. I got drunk the first night there, threw up in a ritzy restraunt before the sun even went down, went on the Vampire tour still drunk and hungover feeling. The next day I only had one drink and Suzy and I went dancing at a place called Razoo's. It was cool, but I'm pretty sure I dance like a woman. I only ever learned how to samba and even with the men in samba there's a whole lot of ass shaking, and so that's how I dance. Oh well. Eventually I just got tired and went back to the hotel to crash. When we got back I noticed that I got the tea I ordered from Adagio and have so far had three cups of wonderful green tea. All in all, a spectacular birthday.
