It had this perpetual infection, and I religously put on the ear stuff, and after I tore it open a couple more times (I swear it takes a power tool to get that damn piercing stud out) I used alcahol and HP when it got real bad...but it just wouldn't heal. I miss the look, but at least I don't have to worry about hurting myself when I tuch my hair behind my ear, and I can lay on whatever side I want in bed.

Neko2631 2004-06-03 18:48:46 ET A perpetual infection...well...it got infected, and I couldn't ever make the infecion go away. It didn't get largely better or worse just...stayed infected. The bump...I learned afterwards that that's the piece of cartilage that used to be where the stud is. I take it you got it done with a piercing gun, as did I? See, if you get it done at a piercing shop, they use a hollow needle, so the cartilage comes out, and they can even put a hoop in there for you...but as far as I know, that's a piercing that will always be somewhat tender.

BrownEyedGirl 2004-06-05 02:38:52 ET thats okay.. i asked my manager at work about her tragus and if it ever got infected.. she said that it gets infected all the time, and just to leave mine alone and it should go away.. and if it doesn't after a few weeks then to see a doctor or take it out
