Ghost Story

I watch the Western sky
The sun is sinking
The geese are flying South
It sets me thinking

I did not miss you much
I did not suffer
What did not kill me
Just made me tougher

I feel the winter come
His icy sinews
Now in the fire light
The case continues

Another night in court
The same old trial
The same old questions asked
The same denial

The shadows closely run
Like jury members
I look for answers in
The fire's embers

Why was I missing then
That whole December
I give my usual line:
I don't remember

Another winter comes
His icy fingers creep
Into these bones of mine
These memories never sleep

And all these differences
A cloak I borrow
We kept our distances
Why should it follow

I must have loved you

What is the force that binds the stars
I wore this mask to hide my scars
What is the power that pulls the tide
I never could find a place to hide

What moves the Earth around the sun
What could I do but run and run and run
Afraid to love, afraid to fail
A mast without a sail

The moon's a fingernail and slowly sinking
Another day begins and now I'm thinking
That this indifference was my invention
When everything I did sought your attention

You were my compass star
You were my measure
You were a pirate's map
A buried treasure

If this was all correct
The last thing I'd expect
The prosecution rests
It's time that I confess:

I must have loved you

Sting

I love sting so much. That song is one of my favorites. I love the simplicity of the acoustic guitar, and the end is phenominal. My favorite line is "I wore this mask to hide my scars".
God, you rock for knowing that song! Now if you will excuse me, i have to go listen to the Soul Cages with a side of Brand New day and mercury Falling for dessert...

:)

i've been listening to sting since i was...well before i was born actually haha.

it's quite a long story really, that normally i don't go into detail on, but if you'd like i can explain.

have you seen him live?

Yeah, i caught his Brand new Day tour when he came to Charlotte, NC. It was actually my first live concet of anyone. I was In the 9th grade, and i missed a whole day of school for it. When he did 'Moon over Burbon Street' that night, i was amazed at it's beauty. That night rocked. I didn't start listening to him until about 5 or 6 years ago, and i wish i had started sooner.

I saw Brand New Day....lord..umm...5-6 times..maybe more haha. i knew the whole playlist by the end of it haha. it was great though.

I think it's one of his best concert runs ever. but then again I've always adored him.

Only thing I'm not sure of is this new concert run, I dunno bout the new album. I like it, but it's not his best. *shrugs* it'll still be fun though, I'm definately looking forward to july 24 :)

I want to see his tour so bad. On his site it doesn't show him coming anywhere near me (NC, SC, the charlotte area.) I like his new album, mostly the songs like 'Inside' 'Sacred Love' and 'Book of my Life' because they sound more like his usual work. I heard he sang 'Hole in my life' at one show this year. I would love to hear what he did with that one!

hmm i'll keep an ear out and let youknow if he does it here, and also if he may head your way...i have a full itinerary laying around here somewhere so if i can find it i'll give a gander and see if he may come around you sometime.

lol cool. I think the nearest to me he is coming is like New Orleans, and it is sold out, all his other shows just about are too
