hmph. I'm so torn, cause I want to go see the Bouncing Souls next Friday, but I don't think I should spend the money.
I need to save every bit I can for next month's HepCat shows.
but I could just cut back on other things - like food.
yeah. I could live on dollar store stew and ramen for a month. yeah, I could do that.

Despite all the rain
and the work I should do
I still get in the car
still searchin for you
still hittin the road
still tryin to find home
or, no...
no searchin
no reason to drive today
just to feel the ground rollin'
and to watch the scen'ry passin
to see the land unfolding
watch the sun come gently crashing
'pon the world in all it's hurry
casting fight, flight and fury
in a pall; cool, summer's shadow
without a worry in sight
as the headlights appear
I gladly embrace the night.

i spent all my money in a mexican whorehouse, across the street from a catholic church, and then i wiped off my revolver, and i buttoned up my burgundy shirt, i shot the morning in the back, with my red wings on, i told the sun he'd better go back down, and if i can find a book of matches, i'm goin' to burn this hotel down.

you got to tell me brave captain, why are the wicked so strong, how do the angels get to sleep, when the devil leaves the porchlight on.

well i dropped thirty grand on the nugget slots, i had to sell my ass on fremont street, and the drummer said there's sanctuary, over at the bagdad room, and now it's one for the money, two for the show, three to get ready, and go man go, i said tell me mr. siegel, how do i get out of here.

well willard's knocked out on a bottle of heat, drivin' dangerous curves across the dirty sheets, he said man you ought to see her, when her parents are gone, man you ought to hear her when the siren's on.

you got to tell me brave captain, why are the wicked so strong, how do the angels get to sleep, when the devil leaves the porchlight on.

don't you know that ain't no broken bottle, that i picked up in my headlights, on the other side of the nevada line, where they live hard die young, and have a good lookin' corpse every time, well the pit-boss said i should keep movin', this is where you go when you die, and so i shot a black beauty, and i kissed her right between the eyes.

well willard's knocked out on a bottle of heat, drivin' dangerous curves across the dirty sheets, he said when the bitch is wound up, and her parents are gone, man you ought to hear her with the siren on.

you got to tell me brave captain, why are the wicked so strong, how do the angels get to sleep, when the devil leaves the porchlight on?

Well, the story of this show is more about how we got there than the show itself.
apparently the directions I had were to the college, not the field where the show was being held (yes, it was an out-door show), so we first drove around for a half hour with three cars in a parade because we were all leaving seperatly,
and as I continued to hit barrier after barrier to the road that I knew would lead us there (I believe they had the road closed for the day), on the on the advice of some shirt-less frat boys, we got out and walked.
walked a half-mile up a cliff-side to a gate in the fence, where a campus-bike-cop told us we couldn't get in that way. fucking campus police.

so again, we walked another half-mile around the fence, where they weren't checking I.D.s or nothin. silly schools.

LTJ played for a little under an hour, and...
I don't know if they played shortened versions, or I just never noticed it, but man, their songs are short!
they must have played 15-20 songs, a whole bunch from Losing Streak and Hello Rockview, which is cool, cause those are two of the three albums I have.
Lots of LTJ fans were there, as opposed to college students, so the pit was decent enough.
I was totally out-of shape and un-prepared to go into a mosh-pit, though, so I was feeling the burn for the rest of the weekend.
and towards the last song, they brought up this kid (couldn't have been more than 9), who was wearing an LTJ hockey jersey, and they let him sing along and play air-guitar. totally cool.

Probably the best part was the crew I brought with me -
my best-friend, my girlfriend, and her best-friend.

after the show, I had to drive to Elkton, MD for my cousin's wedding. I didn't think it possible, but I made it from Bethlehem,PA to Elkton, MD in 1 hour 35min.
while changing into a shirt&tie.
props to me.
