Rewarding myself with a beer and Fluffy after addressing, stamping, and filling all of the save the dates for the wedding.
It's more work than it sounds, trust me.
Now the creepy feeling that I've forgotten someone is starting to rise up my back and into my shoulders. Why didn't we elope?

Afternoon, everyone!
I played hookie from work yesterday to head into town for the Houston Rodeo. It's a pretty big event here and it is full of animals, fried food, cowboy hats, and people. I have loved moving to Texas and the first gift I asked for was a pair of cowboy boots so I was loving every minute of it. I even gave loving pats and scratches to a cow <3
The day ends with a huge concert inside Reliant stadium. My pesudo mom Sheree came with me and she was rocking out all day in her little scooter. When it came time to get to our seats she found a place where she could sit in her scooter and get a great view so I sat in my seats by myself. nbd.
I was enjoying the rodeo and the beginning of the concert in open seat bliss when two ladies mid 30s asked me if the seats next to me were taken (Sheree's seat plus two open ones next to me on the other side). I know I should have said yes, but the nice side of my brain answered for me and I told them that they were free. Now, the performer last night was Kenny Chesney and I am not the biggest fan of him, but I paid for the seat so you damn well know I am there to enjoy a concert. Apparently these ladies had another plan and it was to discuss the men in their lives over the music. Unfreaking believable. I started to plug my ear that was to them to give them a hint that they were annoying and a concert wasn't the place to catch up on what happened earlier that day. They finally got the hint and moved to another seat. They said they were "cncert hopping" I say, shut up and enjoy the music.
I don't know if this all ticked me off because of the new ADD medicine I am on (which makes people's bullshit less tolerable) but I was so glad they left so I could enjoy the concert. Blech.

Is it wrong to feel like you are on a little vacation when your loved one is away?
Travis and his dad left around 3:30 this morning to head to Lubbock for Travis's grandfather's 90th birthday and they will be up there for the weekend.
This is the first weekend since we've been together where he is out of town and I don't have to be anywhere or do anything. He went on a hunting trip a couple of months ago, but my folks were in town. Before that, I had to go to NYC for my aunt's funeral and he stayed down here. It's crazy to think that there have been so few times when we have been apart since we have been together...
Don't get me wrong: I love him and can't wait to spend the rest of my life with him, but I am treating this weekend as a lazy weekend which will include Chinese food and a "Sex and the City" marathon. Win.

It cracks me up how NOT ok I am when money is being spent on me. Like I don't deserve it or something.
That Catholic guilt runs DEEP.
Other than that we are back on the diet bandwagon. Travis is two dentist visits away from being ready to get back into the USMC. Two dentist visits and 15 pounds. He's so lucky that if he stops drinking soda he will lose 10 lbs in a week. Jealous...
We had our anniversary on Monday. Pretty fun day which lead to a nice dinner. 2 years :)

It's almost 1:30in the morning and I have a kitty at my feet, my love snoring next to me, and the apartment gate opening and closing outside.
We're healthy. We're employed. We're happy.
I couldn't ask for more from life.
Sappy, but true.
