two weeks and counting    2005-08-08 20:11:47 ET
I gave my notice at work today. the nightmare ends in two weeks.

joint compound is fun to pass back and forth between knives; and when it dries on my hands it reminds me of the paste I use to play with in elementry school.

Did I mention I gave my notice today.

We got our wedding rings today. The jeweler screwed both of them up. Both of our rings are twice the width they should have been. For me, it means I cannot wear it with my engagement ring. David's ring just looks stupid and cheap. We are going to have David's ring redone at the proper width. My engaement ring is really too wide anyway to be worn with another ring. David want to beable to give me another ring as the wedding ring. His disapointment makes me miserable. I am experimenting with wearing a ring above the knuckle instead of below. I kinda like the look of the sepperated rings, it's unusual. I am not sure, however, I can keep this ring on throughout normal life. We shall see.

My other dissapointment of the night comes a bit mixed. David and I still work for the same guy. David, tonight recieved a raise. The second raise he's been given since I began working full time last may. I still make the same as I did when I was hired on as part time a year ago. While I am really happy for dave, I can't help feeling sorry for myself. I putting in my two week notice. school starts at the end of this month anyway.

ooh gas card...    2005-08-03 20:49:13 ET
I was lured in by the promise of a free camera. 90 minutes of my life was sucked away by the way too happy sales people at trendwest.
Somewhere in the midst of the main guy explaining why it would benifit us to buy into thier vacation plans, I thought to myself, hey- we use that same sort of line at church. (giggle giggle) Sales is a predicatable thing. No matter what soemone is trying to sell you, useful of not, the "we only go around once" argument is going to find it's way in. "you should do this now cause tomarrow you could Die!"
We said no to their offer and I obtained my cheesey digital camera. It only holds about 22 pictures inside it's plastic self and is a 2.0 pixel. we were also given a voucher for a three night stay at one of the resorts & a 100 dollar gift certificate to some cheap crap for sale website. the coolest thing they gave us for our time was a ten dollar gas card. It kinda says something about gas prices when all other more "valuable" items are tossed aside at the mention of free gas.
