Reflection | |
2003-10-03 09:37:17 ET A month on my own not sure if I've grown but this much is known the days don't go slow Sunrise brings another working morning poems in my head start forming and there never seems to be slowing the steady pace I've been knowing Lifting frieght, boxes & furniture praying to heaven this isn't my future but as every night is terrible torture I grow evermore wary and unsure the voices I hear say I'm on the right track I gain nothing now if tonight I turn back So I stare at the clock as tommorrow's lunch I pack At night I close my eyes and all I see is black Another month ahead, week by week, day by day Every man sits and plans and makes his own way I'll surely keep on living, if God allows I may and hold Hope for the day I am given my say |
A Man Alone | |
2003-10-03 09:33:54 ET A Man Alone is an oddity a strange sight in this age A man alone runs the risk of being a target for rage a man alone draws gawkers denying his title and name\ A man alone draws questions "what's the purpose" and "is he sane?" But why must a man be crazy to want some space to himself for creativity, prayer, and oddly enough, mental health? A man alone is a rebel and a hero to his cause a man alone rarely asks to have himself set apart But a man alone creates distrust and demands retribution For a man alone unto himself is his own solution

the Winds of Change | |
2003-10-03 09:28:20 ET Storm clouds slide away from the city and it's inhabitants take toll of damage and loses |
2003-10-03 09:27:21 ET the Real World ain't a show on MTV it's a place they kick you after they give you your degree Trained in your craft and experienced in your trade they never bother to explain decisions that must be made Where to work how to live What would Jesus do? Your Priorities and Plans does Integrity mean much to you? to work for a living or live for your work How will you get there if you're trapped in the dark what friendships to let go and which ones will last these are just some of the things they never teach in class But the Real World is full of Promise and Hope for those who choose it and Opportunites abound for those who can use it. One thing you may miss if you don't watch the Time no matter what you do the Real World keeps rolling by |
Angie | |
2003-09-29 15:06:58 ET Angie, Angie, when will those clouds all disappear? Angie, Angie, where will it lead us from here? With no loving in our souls and no money in our coats You can't say we're satisfied But Angie, Angie, you can't say we never tried Angie, you're beautiful, but ain't it time we said good bye? Angie, I still love you, remember all those nights we cried? All the dreams we held so close seemed to all go up in smoke Let me whisper in your ear Angie, Angie, where will it lead us from here? Oh, Angie, don't you weep, all your kisses still taste sweet I hate that sadness in your eyes But Angie, Angie, ain't it time we said good bye? With no loving in our souls and no money in our coats You can't say we're satisfied But Angie, I still love you, baby Everywhere I look I see your eyes There ain't a woman that comes close to you Come on Baby, dry your eyes But Angie, Angie, ain't it good to be alive? Angie, Angie, they can't say we never tried (Jagger/Richards) |
