Ow...my brain hurts. Just found out today that a friend of mine is no longer a friend. I certainly support them and wish them a fond farewell...and wish things would have ended better between us. But given the circumstances, I don't see how they could have. To be honest, I expected it much sooner.

Anyhow...onto other things. I finally got into badrap's pit ed class...but the just told me last night that I'm registered for class to start this saturday...for which I'm already booked in the am. ::sigh:: C'est la vie. I emailed the lady and told her that I didn't have enough notice, for the first class, but that I would most definately be able to make the next ones. So, hopefully they can just email me the info I will miss this weekend.

My plants are finally dying. They got these bugs that were eating the leaves, thus killing their light source, and the plants themselves...my basil is completely dead...the summer savory is following close behind, and the mint is fighting, but I don't expect it to last more than a couple more weeks. I made some pesticide out of boiled garlic water and dish soap...and the bugs seem to be gone, now...but the plants are still floundering. The lack of sun also doesn't help. Will get plants that don't require a lot of light next time.

Maybe if we ever have a real summer again I will try for strawberries.

I went to Ikea this weekend...there is only one word for it: Horrifying.

I got some red drapes, a curtain rod, fur de lise curtain rod ender things, two red throw pillows and some wall brackets to hang shelves on in the kitchen.

I also plan to get a loft bed, however, they were out of them when I went...will call ahead when I have another chance to go down there...NOT on the weekend.

Monday was spent re-arranging the apt. Anyone who knows us and lives in the area should stop by soon. In fact, we want to have a dinner with nice wine and stuff, and I'm going to get floor pillows so we can sit around the coffee table thai style and eat. Anyhow, our apartment looks like something out of a furniature magazine....it's almost like we moved...really cool. I can't wait to show off.

Whelp...smoky time. Hope all is well with everyone out there in cyberspace!

A Lovely New Herb Garden...    2005-07-25 06:29:00 ET
I got my first beginnings of an herb garden. Gardening, like art, is a past time that my family has enjoyed for generations, and now it's knocking on my door. I got Peppermint (for tummy tea), Lavendar (for insomnia), Rosemary, Sweet Basil, Summer Savory, and garlic chives. They look gorgeous in my kitchen window...now, let's hope I can keep them alive. My dad told me not to get discouraged if they don't survive. Gardening is something that is learned, and most people don't get it on the first try. So here's to my first try...thankfully, herb seedlings are inexpensive, and so if they die, they won't cost an arm and a leg to replace. If I get the hang of this gardening thing, I'm going to try Strawberries next summer. My grandmother on my dad's side had a small patch of strawberries, and I always wanted strawberries of my own. So, we'll try those next year...it's too late for them now, i think. Or at least too late for any strawberries that would grow to be any good. Waylon made food last night, and we harvested a few basil leaves for the rice dish he was making...it was absolutely yum-tastic. The dish it's self tasted fresh (as the leaves were cut directly from the plant, chopped and thrown in as a seasoning). YUM YUM.

Off to work with me!

So, we did it...

...We got Netflix...

...now my hermitage will never end. No longer do I even have to travel to my local video store.

Gone are the days of flirting over the price of popcorn and 5-day rentals.

*w00t*

Now if only they would deliver my cigarettes as well.

I just bought a compact flash reader for my laptop...but it is apparently uncompatable. GRRR...and I didn't figure that out until I opened the blasted thing...Anyone need a PCMCIA adapter compact flash thingy? It's nice quality...but I'm so not computer savvy. I told the salesperson I have a G4 titanium laptop (apple), but I get home and as it turns out, though it's silver (hence why I thought titanium), it's actually a g4 powerbook.

Damn my eyes!

You Are 28% American
America: You don't love it or want to leave it.
But you wouldn't mind giving it an extreme make over.
On the 4th of July, you'll fly a freak flag instead...
And give Uncle Sam a sucker punch!
