Well I don't know if you all were reading my posts months ago back in November but it's about that time again to start planning my Business Fraternity's Rock the Mic battle of the bands competition. I'm in charge of recruiting bands, getting fundraising together, getting the venue, getting the sponsors, set-up and pretty much everything else.
Well right now, the hardest thing is the band play list. I've gotten 3 bands for sure right now lined up to play. I'll link them for you guys to check out.
Shamrock
Skylar Blue - if you go to their music section listen to the song Promise.
Fly, Mordecai - if you go to their music section listen to the song Cellar Door and yeah I know... they have to be fans of Donnie Darko.
I'm really excited about them all playing... I have always been a big fan of Skylar Blue and Shamrock is some longtime friends of mine but Fly, Mordecai is such a cool band. I'm really hoping they will win out of the three but i haven't even finished choosing the other 2 or 3 bands. It's just really tough finding good bands here in College Station. But let me know what you think about them.

*********UPDATE********
I just got an e-mail maybe 20 minutes ago from another band I requested called Pilot Radio. They are a much more mellow sound than the others and have two releases under their belt and after our show they will be recording their 3rd album. I'm really excited.
Pilot Radio - these guys are amazing and should definitely be checked out.

Well my roommate is a huge Cowboy BeBop, Hellsing, and Ghost in the Shell fan and so I've been checking some of it out and I heard the theme to Ghost in the Shell - Stand Alone Complex... and WOW!! It was amazing... so I've been checking out the composer Yoko Kanno and she's awesome.

I know I know... I just wanted to post another poem for you all to read. I promise to post something real sometime soon.
"Batteries Not Included"
Her smile brings a new light to this dark room of memories
Like writing on the wall scars of Summer and Fall
I wish to erase the past but I couldn't hope to forget them all
I just wish to be unblemished with the abilites of a new coat of arms
To be new for her and all to see
To be seen as an untouched product for consumption
On shelves of a store to be sold
And for her to buy into me and my dreams
...I just wasn't prepared for this moment to come
The moment that I was at the lowest that she found me
Returned and broken, nothing remade, nothing left unspoken
And she picked me from the stack of new
Paying a sum more than I could ever repay in these dark hues of words so oftenly used
Violets and blues, grey green of greed filled to the deepest, politely abused
Nothing could have shown of the gold that was her
Polished and cleaned catching the sun at its brightest finish
Giving a new light to the dark room in which I am trapped
The door was locked but she showed me the key
I just wish that I could have done it on my own
Strength of mind, heart of spirit filled
The images she deserves I wish I could be
Reading into my wealth of lies she might not be so happy to find
That I am stuck to this addiction of preverbial ramblings
Nothing but an intoxicated soul stricken by regret

Well... so I'm in a writing frenzy. I wrote three yesterday... wrote this today. Craziness. It's about seeing the person you want taken by someone you know. And you know this person is fake and nothing good but they are your friend so you just let it happen and watch the one thing you desire leave you for him... this is not a current event but one from the past. Enjoy.
"The Parting of Time"
The assault of brain and mouth
Between the ears of the possessed
Marked by conceit and feelings dark to the core
Misunderstood standing to be corrected
Flow by mouth well past when the jaw becomes sore
And dull lifeless lies in the wells of the disconnected
Like flies circling the plagued and starving
Starving for a second chance at failure
Smug and without remorse passing and dying
Never learning to listen and react
Just a temporary image left to never interact
Only fading as the projector flips the scene
Is the lens blurry or was that an answer?
Emission of phrases and words is better than none
It just seems to be far fleeting and misleading
Rather than something true
Bonds are broken on the chemist's plate
As the creation of a ghost becomes the origin of the unoriginal
Leaving the others to listen with wonder as the recordings of stories and lessons
Mindgames and transgressions rewrite themselves in his breath
Dimensionless images leap across his teeth
Like the flicking of a fiery reptile's tongue
Sinister and merciless are the tools of the carpenter's misguided
Unloved and unloyal
Sorrowful and embattled
His moment to rise has come home with you
Buying into the speech and entrapping the prey
One and one in the same planned timing
So this is the way you want to go out
To flicker and die like an irradiated perspective on a negative touched by the sun
When you could have hung on the wall besides me
And this is when the reel skips you out of my sight
