Is Your Child A Goth?    2005-02-06 22:48:53 ET
The definitive list-Presented by St. Mary's Church:

Listed below are some warning signs to indicate if your child may have gone astray from the Lord. Gothic (or goth) is a very obscure and often dangerous culture that young teenagers are prone to participating in. The gothic culture leads young, susceptible minds into an imagined world of evil, darkness, and violence. Please seek immediate attention through counselling, prayer, and parental guidance to rid your child of Satan's temptations if five or more of the following are applicable to your child.

-Frequently wears black clothing.
-Wears band and/or rock t-shirts.
-Wears excessive black eye makeup, lipstick or nail polish.
-Wears any odd silver jewelry or symbols.
-Shows an interest in piercings or tattoos.
-Listens to gothic or any other anti-social genres of music. (Marilyn Manson claims to be the anti-Christ, and publicly speaks against the Lord. Please discard any such albums IMMEDIATELY.)
-Associates with other people that dress, act or speak eccentrically.
-Shows a declining interest in wholesome activities, such as: the Bible, prayer, church or sports.

-Drinks alcohol.
-Is suicidal and/or depressed.
-Cuts, burns or partakes in any other method of self-mutilation.(This is a Satanic ritual that uses pain to detract from the light of God and His love. Please seek immediate attention for this at your local mental health center.)

-Sleeps too excessively or too little.

-Misbehaves at school.
-Misbehaves at home.

-Dances to music in a provocative or sexual manner.
-Expresses an interest in sex.
-Masturbates.
-Is homosexual and/or bisexual.
-Pursues dangerous cult religions. Such include: Satanism,
Scientology, Philosophy, Paganism, Wicca, Hinduism and Buddhism.
-Wears pins, stickers or anything else that contains these various phrases: "I'm so gothic, I'm dead", "woe is me", "I'm a goth".
-Claims to be a goth.

If five or more of these apply to your child, please intervene immediately. The gothic culture is dangerous and Satan thrives within it. If any of these problems persist, enlist your child into your local mental health center

I do believe this may be the funniest thing I have ever read. The worst part is that the person or people responsible for writing this drivel are completely serious. And going by this list, wouldn't every teenager be a Goth? ~_^

 Yea!    2005-02-03 22:03:05 ET
I made $330 on my seven Ebay auctions! :D Oh, and $.82 cents, I cannot forget that. Not only is it sufficient funds for my trip to FL at the end of the month, I can even buy some new clothes and the thought of new clothing always puts me in a good mood. Plus, I got my spiderweb creepers in the mail today, they are a bit big as I expected them to be but not to the extent that I cannot wear them which is all I care about. And I am currently debating drawing an anime SD of myself as a new icon, it would be amusing and such. ^_^

And some junk    2005-02-02 14:12:30 ET
Well, I am feeling much better than I was a week ago, which is always a positive. Now I am in the stage of sickness known at the Hacking and Wheezing stage, or aka, The Obnoxious stage since your constant coughing and sniffling starts to wear on the nerves of all those around you. Physically, I am about 75% I would say, I am no longer experiencing the same malaise I was before, the exhaustion has passed, hell, I even started lifting weights again. I have been working a bit more lately, which is not saying much, since I am now averaging about 12 hours a week as opposed to 9, yea? At least this long layover between shifts has allowed me sufficient recovery time. Now, I will just list some random happenings.
* I won a pair of awesome spiderweb creepers on ebay, black and purple ones, for only $36! My only possible negative about that is that the creepers are a size 8 1/2 to 9, but I am hoping that even if they are a bit too big, I can still make them fit! ^_^
* I have posted a bunch of auctions on ebay, they will end tomorrow afternoon. So far, seven items have fetched me nearly $200, I am hoping that by the morrow, that number will be over $200, this will be a good chunk of my FL trip money.
* I have decided to start a new short story, I have written the foreword but that was before I fell ill. Now I just need to find the time and inspiration to get it started, I have been lacking in the inspiration department as of late, I hate when I experience these creative droughts.:(
* Lately, I have been watching Whose Line is it Anyways and have come to the decision that it is the funniest show on television, followed by the Simpsons as a close second. I have also come to the realization that I do not actually watch that much tv, which makes me wonder how I seem to pass the time, I am going with my periods of deep thought that last various lengths of time. I also think I should start reading more, as I seem to enjoy that more than I do watching television and even the Internet at times. I am going to start getting into my own independent studies before I finally relinquish my free time to school later this year.
* And my last comment is that I believe that Win Ben Stein's Money is a more difficult random useless knowledge show than Jeopardy. Heh, controversy! ~_^

 Birthday Wishes    2005-01-26 12:18:46 ET
Happy Birthday/Anniversary to my bestest best friend Luciferette, today is her 22nd birthday, plus, it is the same day she got married, brilliant idea to combine the two, makes remembering your anniversary so much simpler! *Making a note to do this in the unlikely case that she ever gets married* Plus, I have been sick for the last 2+ days, a severe cold, so, there has been much misery for me, which means that I will not be able to go out for days to come, no Maschine for me tonight. ;_; See, this is my punishment for getting involved with people, it is like my immune system is saying "Well, now you know better don't you?!" Heh, I am just kidding, I adore you all, except the one of you who got me sick, in that case, damn you, damn you!!! *Coughs*

 A question of Death    2005-01-18 22:15:51 ET
At 12:01 am tonight, a man who murdered two women over a $200 drug deal in 1981 is going to be executed by lethal injection at San Quentin prison in LA, California. There are so many moral and ethical arguments against the Death Penalty, in the past, I am sure I have addressed this, but since it is indeed a sensitive subject, and this event has once again inspired me to express my own opinion pertaining to this particular social issue. Now, it has taken me a great deal of time to decide wether I was for or against the Death Penalty. The Death Penalty exists as a deterrent to the perpetrators of violent crimes. This is also the major fault of the system, in my opinion. The vast majority of those who commit violent crimes are in no way deterred by the idea of The Death Penalty. These people, and I use the term loosely, live their lives on the edge, forever aware of the fact that the path they have taken in life will most likely lead to their ultimate demise, one way or the other so thusly, the threat of dying would be of no consequence to one of their ilk. I have always had a deep interest in criminal psychology and have studied extensively through my own independent research the criminal mind, the ways in which it works, more specifically, violent criminals, murderers, rapists, and serial killers. This by no means implies that the perps are not afraid of dying. Even the infamous serial killer Ted Bundy had to be practically carried into the lethal injection room because he was nearly having a fainting spell at the thought of his uncoming destiny. I am merely stating that death is not going to deter anyone who has it in their mind to commit acts of violence against others, in most of them, it is in their very blood, the desire to kill and do harm onto others, deep rooted psychology, the true psychopaths, those who live without conscience, without the ability of remorse, humans without empathy for others might as well be dead. I suppose that is where the proponents of the Death Penalty get their reasoning from, these perps expressed no remorse for their crimes, oh, they try to make it look like they do, in prison they find God, in a weak attempt to try to make it look like in some way they feel some sort of guilt for the crimes they have committed, but you know what they feel sorry about, getting caught in the first place. In the minds of those who support the Death Penalty, these people are already dead inside, and since we hold so much store in people's abilities to sympathize with their fellow man, it would stand to reason that one who lacks such feelings would be considered less than human, therefore, it is not a crime to kill them, since they are not equal to other human beings. Yes, I am sure this is all well and good but I have yet to say wether I am in favor of the Death Penalty or not. I would have to say that I am against the Death Penalty because it fails at what it sets out to do, but nor do I feel sympathy for those who lose their lives at the hands of Justice if you will, though I am under the belief that an eye for an eye will leave the world blind, but if that is the case, than what alternatives should be used instead of the Death Penalty? Life in prison is a far more sobering thought in my mind than the idea of death, at least with the Death Penalty, you know that your torment would be ending eventually, though in this day and age, it takes 20+ years for a death sentance to finally be issued out, and for some people, that is a lifetime.
Heh, alright, I do believe I have bored you all enough for the time being, so I shall give your mind a bit of a breather, thank you for your time dolls! ^_^
