Odds and Ends    2004-07-03 18:22:00 ET
Argh, I am so exhausted, both physically and mentally. I will be working five straight days before I get Tuesday off which is fortunate since I need it to run some last minute errands, sigh, me and my procrastinating. Tomorrow will be day Four of five, well, at least there is something to look forward to, getting to see my first Skinny Puppy show later in the evening, huzzah, I actually have something to do on the 4th for once! Though I am debating what to wear, I am thinking something vinyl, since the show does not even start till 9:00pm. Actually, I was also invited to a b-day party, yes, on the 4th no less, but I had to decline the invitation, though it was attractive.
Feh, I am all sore as well, since lately, I have been on an insane weight loss program, I mean, watching everything I eat, drinking glass after glass of water, lifting weights and actually working out, which is why I am so sore since I am not used to it. Heh, some people are really surprised by this, since to them, I seem thin, they are silly, I am many things, most of them being negative, and thin is not one of them. I look good, I suppose, but I can always look better. Sometimes I wish I was not so concerned about my physical appearance, I would probably be much happier. Ah well, I am shallow, just like every other individual on this planet, and at least I do not keep some psuedo ridiculous notion that I could care less how I look, if you have ever looked in a mirror before, you care, end of story.
On a lighter note, work was amusing if nothing else today. For one, I received a cute lil skull pin, the skull had a top hat with a one on it, celebrating my first full year working at Hot Topic....they have wasted a year of my life and I want it back....oh well, I would only waste it anyways. Than, later on, when the phone rang, I rushed to answer it, saying "I got it!" and the second I get there, one of the other girls answers. So me, being my clever self, got a piece of register tape and wrote the word "Bitch" since we are not permitted to curse on the selling floor and showed it to her. Ha, I am so adept at finding loopholes, and she was actually quite amused. I also discovered that my germ paranoia is getting a bit out of hand, the new store manager was complaining of feeling ill and I would not get around her and if she got around me, I would tense up, and I used our antibacterial lotion at least a dozen times today! I swear, in a few years, I am going to be one of those poor people suffering from OCD, washing my hands constantly, till they bleed. This is my future, I just know it. And for some reason, I am amused by that thought. ~_^
I also decided to change my journal background and my user image, cute isn't it, it's Divine Decay, I made my own icon on this website, lol, I have to explain some of it. For one, I could not find an appropriate eye color, so I went with green. My eyes are really strange, they are like half blue and half green, I kid you not. And I just decided to add the little ki detector for cyber charm, you know, they wear them on DBZ to gauge the strength of their opponents. And I decided to go with the black brick background, because it is so uber rivet! Lol, sorry, that was an ode to my friend Lars or TurboSkanker as he is known online, that is the way we poke fun at some of the people in our scene that take themselves way too seriously.:P Well, this is all for now, if I can fit one more update into my busy schedule, I shall do so, perhaps at least to tell you how the show was.

 KMFDM Rocks!    2004-06-24 11:42:41 ET
Here is a rundown of my day on Tuesday: For starters, I woke up before ten in the morning, which is something I rarely do anymore, ah, I remember the days where I would wake up early, fresh and cheerful...okay, that never really happened, happy now? Anyways, I had a great reason for getting up so early, I had to buy a new outift for the show, yes, rather last minute I admit but hey, I procrastinate something fierce, anyone who knows me is aware of that. My friend Jeff who was also accompanying me to the show so I would not have to go alone, got his friend to take me to Ipso Facto, I was quite appreciative. I did find an appropriate outfit, I bought this spifftastic military type dress/shirt/coat, yes, it could be any one of those things because of the way it is made, it was made by Funhouse, I adore it. I ended up spending over $100 there on that, a new pvc o-ring collar, and two magazines, the new Gothic Beauty and an issuse of Industrial Nation, it had Al Jourgenson from Ministry in it! Than we went to Electric Chair and Catwalk to check on some other things I required, a few things for my Rosiel cosplay, alas, I could not find what I wanted, three places and no luck! We were out till about four in the afternoon, and the show started at 7:00pm! It was not a problem though, we made it in plenty of time, in fact, the show did not even start till eight. Now here comes the fun part of the post, the opening bands. In a word, they were horrendous, I mean, is this the best KMFDM could do?? I mean, these opening acts were Babyland opening bands bad, Mr. Turbo knows what I am talking about! It must have been on short notice, maybe they pinned the names of a bunch of local bands on a board and threw darts at them. The first band was a local product called Full Frequency, well, to be honest, they weren't horrible, they just weren't interesting, or different, nothing made them stand out, I could not see them ever gaining a following outside of the local scene, just no personality. The next opening act was called Black Japan, once again, maybe I was a bit overly critical earlier, for what they were, they were not terrible, they were ambient noize, I suppose they just were not KMFDM, that was the main problem, no one saw the show advertised and said, "Wow, Black Japan is playing, keen gear!" Everyone was there to see KMFDM, end of story. So, you can only imagine the excitement of the crowd when they finally came on, around ten! A side note, unfortunately, the whole band was not there, Mr. Pig aka Raymond Watts, was not present, I was a bit disappointed by that, they were still awesome, but they would have been even better with him, ah well. The show was fabulous, not as good as the show in November that had Bile opening and Raymond Watts, but still pretty bloody grand. They played for about an hour and a half, not as long as they played last year, but everyone was revved up the entire time, they even had a small pit going though the HOB people said no pits, no stage diving, ect but I think those are more of a set of guidelines than actual rules. The best part was my seat, I had bought the cheapest tickets they had, standing room only, and by the middle point of the show, I had gotten in the will call area which had a fantastic view of the stage, this guy I met just that night got me in after he charmed the security lady into letting him in. Heh, than Jeff just went up to her, said he was with me, and got in as well. Yes, security was rather apathetic, which was swell for us, we got killer seats! Jeff was very excited after the show, this was his first industrial show and he loved it, ah, converting another lost soul, ah, I love being me sometimes. Than my friend Jason took me home so I did not have to take a taxi. He also invited me to go to Perversions tonight, which is permanantly back at the Ruby now, yea! I am still undecided on that right now, I shall make up my mind later. Well, that is all, I hope you have as much fun reading this as I had writing it. Rock on dolls! ~_^

 +Come, thrill me with your acumen+    2004-06-17 11:27:00 ET
Hmm, last night I happened to be watching the Discovery Channel, as I seem to take great pleasure in watching educational or at least enlightening television, as opposed to "American Idol" or some other reality tv garbage. I am so glad I have absolutely no interest in watching programs like that, I was spared the further destruction of brain cells by "popular" television. On came a truly thought provoking program about Nostradamus, a skeptical inquiry into his supposed prophetic abilities. Needless to say, I was quite enthralled, well, into I began to drift back to the novel I was reading, the original Bram Stoker classic, Dracula. Lol, watching Discovery and reading, yes, I am a geek, I know this. I also know that I have the attention span of a three year old child suffering from ADD. Moving on, I came to my own opinions concerning Nostradamus. I am more skeptcial than spiritual, anyone who knows me personally is well aware of this, so of course, I took that stance when watching this program. And though I was intrigued by what I saw, nothing on the program made me change my mind, or even alter my thinking in the least bit. I am of the opinion that Nostradamus' writings are purposely vague, to be open to interpretation by the reader, if they wish to interpret his works as possible visions of the future, than they are free to do so, I certainly will not criticize them for it, except for the fact that the level of their naivety should be at least questioned. I, however, am not willing to do so, there are so many spiritual crooks out there, willing to exploit the ignorance of the populace in order to make money, or simply to prove a point. Example, after 9/11, a rumor was spread over the internet that Nostradamus had predicted the horrors of 9/11 several centuries before it happened, in a chilling quatrain who's wording I do not exactly remember. People, looking for answers, ate it up, only to find out a bit later that the prophecy was in fact a well designed hoax, using actual parts of Nostradamus quatrains. I must say, though the timing was probably inappropriate, the brilliance of the prank was impressive indeed, no one can challenge that. On the program, I heard that the supposed prepretrator was the leader of a society of skeptics, simply out to prove how gullible people are, and silly it was to put so much store into the words of a long dead 16th century astrologer. I think that is a tad cruel, so it was probably just some bored internet punk, looking to amuse him or herself at a chaotic time, and it was one of those pranks that does not really harm anyone and hey, it did give people something to talk about right? So, it cannot be all bad, or maybe that just says something about me. Being an Atheist, I tend to have an arrogant view of those who put too much faith into something that seems so ridiculous, I have a smug, almost superior attitude toward those people and I suppose there is that centurys old argument about which is more difficult, believing or not believing. Though, as always, I try to keep an open mind about people and their beliefs, even if they do not afford me the same, I do not need to sink down to their level, though at times, it could be so easy to degrade myself like that. Lol, I do digress at times, if I have bored you, my apologies, it was not intentional. Heh, this is probably why I get so few comments, no one wants to sit and read through my entries! Bonus points to anyone who can tell me what movie the title of this post came from, I would give you a hint but than it would be too easy. Your prize will be my respect....no, I don't have a better prize! ::Eyebrow twitches:: Oh, and guess who is going to see KMFDM on Tuesday, yep, that's right, you may envy me when ready. I do need a new outfit though, sigh, I have lots of clothes but it's me, I can always have more, even if my closet is saying right now, "Oh no, no, no, that's not happy!" Heh, as if I listen!^_^, And on a side note, is anyone on here going to see KMFDM on Tuesday, I need someone to hang out with, you don't want me to be all alone and forlorn do you? ::Looks all sad:: ,>_<,

 Cleanliness    2004-06-10 13:53:55 ET
Allo! Just thought I would add a quick entry. Last night I went to see Kansas at the HOB in Anaheim with the 'rents. The show was fabulous, as it always is, I mean, come on, it's Kansas, they are one of the greatest live bands ever, anyone who has seen them knows I speak the truth. Lol, most people here probably do not even know who they are but that is okay. And than today was nice, I got to sleep in, than I received my brand new pvc coffin purse in the mail, and I decided to clean and rearrange my bedroom and I actually enjoyed it. Isn't that weird how sometimes you just get into the moods where you find pleasure in cleaning? I get worried when I actually want to do the dishes, I must be experiencing some inner turmoil and how I act out is by cleaning feverishly. I met the new manager at work, for a brief moment, from that short exchange, she seemed nice enough, but we shall see I suppose. The new assistant manager is rather pleasant, she enjoys the same type of music as I do, and even goes to clubs, mostly Bar Sinister though. So, that is at least one positive thing. I work four straight days this weekend, yea, I am pleased though, I could use the hours since I need to save up my money for FL, I had my last plurge, spending $160 on a new outfit that I plan to wear to KMFDM if it gets here in time, it had better! ::Shakes fist in threatening manner:: I bought it off XtraX, a German gothic clothing site which has wonderful clothing, such a wide selection! Well, I shall leave it at this for the time being, ta for now!

KMFDM and other matters    2004-06-02 13:58:09 ET
Yea, here I am again, I am still alive, I have just been rather busy lately. I recently bought tickets to see KMFDM so in the span of about two weeks, I will be seeing both KMFDM and Skinny Puppy. Ah, life is good. My friend Luci also bought my plane tickets to FL, I leave at 6:45 in the morn, I might as well not sleep at all if I have to leave at 5:00 in the morning to get to the airport, go through security, all that fun stuff. And it is seeming more and more likely that we will be moving, probably by September, which I have mixed feeling about, I am just really starting to enjoy California, going to clubs, hanging out with my friends, sigh. Hey, but maybe Missouri will not be so bad...yeah right, I am reaching now! ,>_<,<BR> Last night I was on the phone for several hours, talking to two people, amusingly enough, they were both guys! Lol, who ever said that men don't like talking on the phone? I recently drew a new picture, which I have not done since Feburary, it is rather nice as well, I was impressed with myself, I would show you, but it is not on our site yet, we probably will not update till August, after the anime conventions are finished for the time being. Hopefully I will have a few more works completed by that time, but with my notorious procrastination, one never knows. I cannot wait to go to FL to see my friend Luci and her husband and plus, we are going to a con and we get to cosplay, it'll be fantabulous. We will be sure to take many pictures for you to enjoy! Well, that is all for now, I have to work for the next three or four days, so yeah, don't envy me too much. And in closing:
"You call that a knife, this is a knife!" ::Pulls out a spoon.::
"That is a spoon."
"Ah, I see you've played knifey spooney before."
